Replacing a wooden grain leg meant working through the existing building, not simply standing a new leg beside it. The work included removing the old roof, wooden leg and distributor-platform floor, then fitting a new boot and steel elevator. The roof was raised approximately 10 feet, with the new leg extending above it to serve three exterior bins.
